DAY #150
SEPTEMBER 6, 2023
UPDATE: Now they have yet another party planned for 'Community Awards'...I wonder if Silver Street Taverns money has been shifted to this event & wonder if Waterville Police Department will be receiving another 'Above & Beyond' award for their stellar work with victims of sexual assault?
All of this seems like a lot of planning on how to deal with the "overwhelming demand"...I am just going to say it; I think Sexual Assault Crisis & Support (& their board) do not want the 'Unheard Voices of the Waterville Rape Basements' at their party?!
ORIGINAL POST: When community members found out that Sexual Assault Crisis & Support Center made Charlie Giguere, the owner of Silver Street Tavern an official fiscal sponsor of their 24th Sexual Assault Celebrity Dinner that 'supports' victims of sexual assault...well, outraged individuals immediately bought a seat to represent EACH & EVERY victim that publicly came forward of the Waterville Rape Basements.
This event has been "postponed" for the first time ever in 24 years..."due to overwhelming demand" & it is now "rescheduled" for 2024?
So they are not having their 2023 fundraiser; the organizations one big fundraising event of the fiscal year; didn't they plan to sell it out? How is the venue all of a sudden 'too small'? Or is it 'too small' because they don't care for the guest list that bought it out?
I wonder if they will have 2 Celebrity Dinners in 2024? If not...isn't the 2023 Sexual Assault Crisis & Support Center fundraiser that was bought out by the 'unheard victims of Waterville rapes' really just cancelled?
Guess they need some time to plan for this "overwhelming demand."
